Safflower Seed Oil or Sunflower Oil RBD, has a long history of use in cosmetic formulations, dating back to ancient Egyptians and Greeks. Most of this oil comes from Eastern Europe or Southern Canada. The actual flower is bright red-orange and this flower was used by the Egyptians to dye mummy wrappings! It is believed that this plant was first cultivated about 4000 years ago in the Fertile Crescent.

Characteristics

Safflower Seed Oil in the US is usually High Oleic Safflower – this means that it is a mild oil used almost interchangeably with High Oleic Sunflower Oil. It is an excellent emollient and moisturizer that provides protections to skin with a glowing finish.
