Activated Silk™ Hydrogel P2-α forms a novel proteoglycan structure composed of an Activated Silk™ peptide backbone with carbohydrate side chains capable of binding water and interacting with oils.

The peptide backbone binds directly to hair keratin, allowing the material to anchor to the hair surface while also diffusing into the hair fiber. This dual mechanism supports both surface repair and internal moisturization of the hair structure.
