Açaí Oil, Virgin

Oh, Oh Organic represents Bielus, a woman owned company based in Brazil. Their supply chain is primarily composed of associations, cooperatives, and other formally organized groups representing smallholder farmers, extractivist communities, and other communities directly involved in the sustainable harvesting and management of resources from Brazilian socio-biodiversity. Bielus' supply chain is composed of approximately 20 cooperatives and community organizations distributed across the Amazon, Cerrado, and Caatinga biomes, involving approximately 1,468 families and around 7,340 people. All partner supply chains are geographically identified, and our ingredients are 100% traceable by batch, allowing their origin to be monitored throughout the supply process. 

The Açaí berry used to make this Acai Oil is found throughout the Amazon basin and particularly in the eastern part. This plant tends to dominate the landscape and prefers flooded areas and wetlands with high natural regeneration. Though 20 tons of fruit per hectare are possible in a harvest, Açaí oil is extracted with a very limited yield of only 1%.
