Castor Oil production is concentrated primarily in a small geographic region of Western India accounting for over 90% of castor oil exports. It is a highly renewable resource obtained from pressing the seeds of the castor plant. Castor is one of the oldest cultivated crops and was used as one of the earliest mechanical lubricants. Use of Castor Oil has increased more than 50% during the past 25 years.

Characteristics

Certified Organic Castor beans are cultivated for their seeds and yield a viscous, pale yellow, non-volatile, and nondrying oil. It is known as an occlusive oil, providing excellent protection when skin is exposed to windy or dry weather. Castor is an excellent carrier for pigment (lip products).
